Calling German Scholars and Scientists in the US: Upcoming GAIN Meetings (Harvard, November 28th at 6 PM)

Register by November 17, 2006

GAIN (German Academic International Network) is an interdisciplinary contact and information forum for German scientists and scholars in North America. The network provides this unique group with the opportunity to communicate with each other and to stay abreast of the latest developments in higher education and research in Europe and Germany. GAIN is a cooperation of DAAD, the German Research Foundation (DFG), and the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation (AvH), all organizations furthering the international academic and scientific exchange. The next GAIN meeting will center around the "Excellence Initiative" of the German higher education system, and will inform participants about new opportunities for scholars and scientists at the universities singled out through the intiative. Participants will have the chance to hear from one of the most successful universities in the Excellence Initiative, the Ludwig-Maximilians-Universitaet Munich (LMU). The event will take place in cooperation with the consortium German University Alliance (FU Berlin/LMU).

The informational event, including a wine and cheese reception, will take place in four US cities on four consecutive days:
