Call for Proposals for 2007 AATG Annual Meeting in San Antonio, TX (November 16-18,2007)
Deadline for proposals: December 15, 2006
Please check the AATG call for papers Web site frequently for changes/updates to this information.
You will find an extensive list of specific sessions already planned as well as the familiar general call for papers. Recognizing the need for dialogue and collaboration between teachers of German at all levels, the planning committee hopes that this new format will bring together teachers and scholars of language, business, applied linguistics, SLA, culture, film, and literature--all motivated by a commitment to pedagogy and eager to showcase and inspire the innovative and resourceful teaching our profession requires. The planning committee is hopeful that AATG members and members-to-be will readily find a home for their paper proposals among the sessions already formulated. At the same time, the program committee is happy to consider proposals for additional sessions, especially in areas not already covered.
This year, there are two possibilities for submitting proposals:
1) Planned Sessions (75 minutes) Click here (online site to be posted late fall 2006) to submit a proposal for a planned session, for session title description, and e-mail addresses for session chairs. To propose an individual paper in one of these planned sessions, send an e-mail directly to the session chair. Include: a) "Annual Meeting 2007 Proposal" in subject line; b) title of your presentation, c) an abstract, d) anticipated AV needs, if any; and e) your name, affiliation, and contact information in the message. Session chairs will follow up on paper proposals and will submit the final session information to AATG.
2) Open Sessions (75 minutes) / Workshops (Pre-Conference, 3 hours {Thursday morning or afternoon} or 6 hours {all-day Thursday}) Topics are open. Use the online proposal form here (to be posted) to submit a proposal for an open session (75 minutes) or workshop (3 hours or 6 hours). Please be sure to include the title, chair, and up to five presenters (including session organizer) with paper titles and brief descriptions. Please note: A session or workshop with only one presenter or a single paper will not be considered. Members are encouraged to use the AATG listserv to find others who might be interested in joining a session or workshop on their proposed topic.
All proposals will be refereed on the basis of quality, originality, and relevance by the Program Committee (to be announced). If you have questions, please contact the Program Committee or the AATG office.
