RI-AATG Trip to Bush-Reisinger Museum (April 1, 2006)

Deadline to reserve spot: March 19, 2006 (Wednesday) at 4:00 PM

Dear RI AATG Member,

Our chapter received funds from the National AATG for a cultural excursion to Boston. Join your AATG colleagues on Saturday, April 1st (no joke) for a trip to Cambridge, MA! We will take Amtrak to South Station, take the Red Line to Harvard and walk to the Bush-Reisinger Museum, known for one of the most significant collections of German art in the U.S. We will get a guided tour of the highlights of the museum. I have requested a German-speaking tour guide.

So, the day will look approximately as follows:

  • Leave from either Kingston Station at 10:01 AM or Providence Station at 10:22 AM and arrive at South Station at 11:05 AM.
  • Guided Tour through the Bush-Reisinger Museum at 12:00 Noon.
  • Afterwards, we could walk back to the Harvard Square area, have a nice lunch and enjoy the rest of the afternoon in Cambridge.
  • Our train back leaves from South Station at 4:40 PM, arriving in Providence at 5:20 and in Kingston at 5:41.

The small grant we received will cover the round trip train ticket on a first-come, first served basis. You will need to pay for the two subway rides, lunch and the group admission to the museum ($4 per person). Amtrak has a special group offer which must be purchased by March 31st. If you want to go on the trip, please fill out the form below and e-mail it to me at hedderich@uri.edu by Wednesday, March 29, 4:00 PM.

Look forward to hearing from you.
    Norbert Hedderich
    Past President, RI AATG
